All God's Children is an African American response to
homophobia. It looks at the relationship of lesbian and
gay African Americans to their churches, and includes strong statements
of
support from prominent African American religious, intellectual and
political
leaders, including Jesse Jackson and Cornel West.
It was designed, in part, as a spiritual response to the divisiveness
and distortions of the Traditional Values Coalition's production Gay
Rights/Special Rights.
bio: Dee Mobascher, MD, Ph.D., is co-producer and co-director of
the
Academy Award - Nominated film Straight from the Heart and the multiple
award-winning All God's Children. She is also the producer/director of
Out
for a Change: Addressing Homophobia in Women's Sports, winner of a
National
Educational Media Award. Dr. Mosbacher, a consultant in the field of
psychiatry, is the founder and President of Woman Vision, a nonprofit
educational media production company.
Sylvia Rhue, Ph.D., is a Bible scholar, licensed clinical social worker,
writer and sexologist. She is one of three a co-producer for the
award-winning social change documentary All God's Children. She is one
of
the cofounders of the National Black Lesbian and Gay Leadership Forum,
and
is a Board Member of the ONE Institute, the world's largest lesbian and
gay
archives.
Frances Reid, co-producer, co-director and cinematographer for Straight
from the Heart and All God's Children, is an award-winning independent
documentary filmmaker. Ms. Reid is currently developing a film project
on
South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
