Over seventy submissions from all over the world for the second UNAFF were carefully reviewed and we chose these twenty six films which deal with human rights and other topics related to UN issues. This year's special program includes a tribute to the well known documentary editor, director and producer Lucy Massie Phenix who has been working for 30 years in furthering this creative field. Three films that she worked on will play during the festival: "Winter Soldier" (1971), film made about and with the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, prize winner at the Cannes and Berlin Film Festivals, largely ignored during the Vietnam War by American press and distributors; "Cancer in two voices" (1993), a documentary videotape of the experience of the lesbian couple, one with breast cancer and her partner, before death; "Regret to Inform" (1999), portrayal of Vietnamese and American widows of the Vietnam war, film nominated for this year an Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary, winner of the Indie Spirit Award and award-winner at the Sundance Film Festival.
