Let’s Face It
(26 minutes) USA
Directors/Producers: Wendy Oser, Joan Levinson, and Beverley Spencer

Description:

Seven women, ages 45 to 65, explore and reflect upon their changing faces. Openly, honestly and with considerable humor the women reveal how they feel about the sags and bags, wrinkles and lines that show up on their faces. Speaking out loud about their feelings, they become aware of their deep ambivalence about the changes, a nostalgia for their former looks and, in most cases, an acceptance of what is.

Biography:

Joan Levinson is 74. She has a grown daughter and a grandson. She has worked in media since the mid-seventies at KQED-TV, San Francisco and KPFA community radio station where she was producer/host of programs on women and contemporary/global issues.

Wendy Oser, 64, has been involved in theater since childhood. She was a pioneer in the use of video feedback as a psychological tool. She is a social activist, has three children and seven grandchildren, and most of the time likes looking her age.

Beverley Spencer, 52, an artist/designer, teacher, and one of the filmmakers of Let’s Face It. She has traveled widely and lived in Japan and Egypt for extended periods. She is considering having cosmetic surgery at some point as the wrinkles deepen.
