Description:
In a city known for innovation and solving some of the world's most difficult challenges, San Francisco is faced with a crisis: how to address the worsening homeless situation. As thousands of residents flee San Francisco to other parts of the United States, hundreds of homeless arrive in search of a city known for taking in the downtrodden and outcast. Moved to act, a local doctor begins a journey to chronicle the stories of homeless individuals in his community. What he discovers is shockingly transformative.
Biographies:
Michael Pedraza has proven himself to be a diverse film and video editor through his work on spec commercials, studio sizzle reels, short-subject films, and feature-length productions of all genres: comedy, drama, horror, action, sci-fi, and documentary. He has worked on many projects for DreamWorks and several Steven Spielberg films, including War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He also served as an additional editor on the documentaries With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story, Deuce, and Unseen Truth: The Story of Kevin Costner & Modern West.
Eduardo Peña Dolhun, M.D., is founder of the Dolhun Clinic and a photographer. As an internationally recognized Disaster Medicine Physician, he has conducted relief efforts in more than a dozen countries. He is the recipient of the Marquette University Service to the Community award and the Mayo Clinic Alumni Humanitarian Award. The challenges of treating dehydration in children and others impacted by disaster or disease led him to invent DripDrop, a next-generation oral rehydration solution. Dr. Dolhun is also an Adjunct Professor at Marquette University, College of Health Sciences, and has lectured at Stanford University in Cross Cultural medicine.
James Mihaley, along with writing award-winning novels for children, is a poet & trained hiphop dancer. His first novel, You Can’t Have My Planet But Take My Brother, Please, was published by Macmillan. For five years, James was part of the Literally Healing program, which believes in the healing power of children's literature. While there, he worked on a cart shaped like a cow called the 'Book Moo-bile’ giving out thousands of free books to children hospitalized with serious illnesses.
