Description:

After seven years in production, it is an uplifting film about the importance of mental health for both those living with a disability and in addition, their caregivers too. It reveals the unconditional energy, strength, and love that gets us through some of the most difficult but enriching times of our lives.

Biography:

Richard Lui is an American journalist and news anchor for MSNBC and NBC News. Lui anchors Early Today on NBC and is a dayside anchor for MSNBC broadcasting. Formerly at CNN Worldwide, Lui became the first Asian American male to anchor a daily, national cable news show. Lui is also a columnist, contributing to publications including USA Today, Politico, The Seattle Times, Detroit Free Press, and San Francisco Chronicle. Lui’s charity work in the same spaces led him to work with Plan International USA as a global ambassador for its Because I am a Girl campaign. He also is ambassador for the Epilepsy Foundation and sits on the president’s council for America’s largest food source to the poor, Food Bank for New York City. Lui has received civil rights awards from organizations including AAJA, WWAAC, and OCA.

Alex Lo is an accomplished film and television producer whose work has resonated with audiences worldwide. His extensive portfolio has been seen everywhere from NBC’s TODAY Show, to the UN, to the private cinema at the White House. Locontributes to the Advisory Panel of inclusion@work, launching a series of workplace risk reports in Davos on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum. Lo made his producing debut with the $3.1M documentary feature Sky Blossom, on children caring for military veterans with disabilities. The film premiered at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and was met with critical acclaim including the prestigious Christopher Award and an Academy Awards qualification. Lo has negotiated distribution deals with Peacock, American Public Television/PBS, produced top-rated broadcasts for MSNBC, and forged an unprecedented community partnership between Universal Pictures Distribution and AMC Theatres to release his films in all 50 U.S. states. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America. Lo is a seasoned journalist, currently at NBC News National.
