Biography:
Chris Jenkins is a documentary filmmaker and Head of Production in the Department of Film & Media Studies at UC Santa Barbara. Whether capturing environmental, humanitarian or cultural stories, his work demonstrates the power of good storytelling. Chris has been behind the lens of several award-winning film including Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars, Riverwebs, The Matador and CAFWA, narrated by Oprah Winfrey. His work has aired on PBS, A&E, Discovery, The Sundance Channel, the History Channel and the Travel Channel. Prior to receiving his Masters degree in Documentary Film & Video from Stanford University, Chris’s work with the UNHCR’s “Camp Sadako” program was focused on art therapy for deaf refugees fleeing conflict in east Africa.
