Biography:
Margarita is a highly
respected journalist in both Europe and Canada. Originally from
Barcelona, Spain, she has an extensive background in all forms of
journalism producing socially conscious reportage for print, radio
and television since the early 80s. Margarita is also a well-known
voice on North American television having reported for CBC, BCTV,
CFMTV, THE FOOD NETWORK, TVE from Spain & Mexico’s Televisa. As
a key member of the production staff at the Canadian CFMTV network,
she hosted a daily news program becoming a recognized authority on
Central & South American political issues. As an independent
producer some of her productions have been: Gaia’s Dream, The Alaska Storytelling Theater Show, Power Mapping, a
documentary series about emerging China which was produced in
partnership with BCTV and other productions for CBC’s Global
Village & The Food Network. Margarita is presently producing
documentaries about Natives stories in both South and North America
and a multi-part documentary series.
