All Together Now

ALL TOGETHER NOW
(85 minutes) Canada/UK/USA
Director: Adrian Wills
Producers: Martin Bolduc, Jonathan Clyde

Description:
All Together Now details the story behind the unique partnership between The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil that resulted in the creation and launch of "Love," the stage production at The Mirage in Las Vegas, a noble experiment-one in which both partners would agree to share creative control for the first time. The film faithfully recounts how the "Love" project came into being, born from the personal friendship between George Harrison and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte. George saw how the twin talents of Cirque's artistry and The Beatles' music could be fused into something new and totally original. Traveling between London, Montreal, and Las Vegas, award-winning director Adrian Wills tracks the human story behind the production, from the studio to its historic opening night. Using archival material as well as intimate interviews with Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison, this documentary is a privileged glimpse of the artistic process from within the creative circle.

Biography:
In his documentary and fiction, Adrian Wills reveals emotionally intimate human stories. With a BFA in film production (Concordia University) and a BA in media studies (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia), he has written and directed short fiction films on Alzheimer's and problem gambling, and directed critically-acclaimed documentaries on the surf guitarist Dick Dale (Pulp Fiction), the National Circus School, opera singers, and the globally renowned Québécois author and playwright Michel Tremblay. For the past five years, Adrian has worked extensively for Cirque du Soleil as a freelance documentary director. All Together Now is his first feature-length documentary. His last two documentaries (Corteo: Behind the Curtain and In the Hands of Michel Tremblay) were nominated for four Gémeaux awards in Quebec including Best Film in each of their categories. Adrian won for Best Director for In the Hands of Michel Tremblay. Adrian is a recent graduate of the Canadian Film Centre and is currently enrolled in their "Director's Lab" shooting a short film The Hunt. He is also developing Quiet, his first feature-length dramatic film.
