Description:
The Tree of Life is about the destiny of children without parental care in Serbia. Through their different stories and tales of their new and caring adoptive families, the film investigates what, if anything, has changed in this system. The Tree of Life talks about the responsibility of all of us to better protect children and their rights.
Biography:
Olivera Milos Todorovic was born in Belgrade. She graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Belgrade. For fifteen years she has been a presenter, journalist and editor of the First Program, Studio B, independent radio, Belgrade. In 1992 she founded the art group ShockART. Todorovic has directed several short documentary and video films and published the book The Shock is Spreading. In 1994 she was granted full membership to the Association of Film Artists of Serbia. From 1997 to 1999 she was a journalist and editor for FreeB92 radio and film productions. In 1999 she developed the ShockART Web site, and in 2000 the multimedia project Nonacceptance. Olivera directed the television series Info Udar (Media Center Production), Sofa (ShockART Production), Life Live for the FIA Art Group, Moving for the British Council and Filter (RTS production). Also, she was a selector for the Domestic Competition Program at the Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival, 2006. Olivera received the Investigative Journalism Award for her documentary The Tree of Life.
