Girls were degraded to sex slaves for Kony's officers.The gunfire has ceased, but one battle remains - the battle to restore the future of the children of Uganda. Academy Award-winning actor/producer Forest Whitaker tells this story of one woman's fight to bring hope back to her nation. Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe leads a vocational school in Gulu, Uganda, where she uses practical skills to restore dignity, independence and hope to formerly abducted women.
Biography:
Derek Watson is an award-winning documentary filmmaker who carries a passion for telling stories that will impact the world. With over thirty documentaries under his belt, he has been commissioned by media outlets and nonprofits to develop these documentaries on topics ranging from the realities of the global water crisis to archeological finds buried in the Sahara Desert. Derek’s hands-on approach comes from developing the award-winning documentary series, State of Creativity for OETA, the Oklahoma PBS member station. This Emmy Award-winning photographer and editor is a proven producer and storyteller with a desire to produce outstanding work. Over the last three years he has become one the most talented producers in the industry working — recently being selected as one of the top twenty documentary producers in the country for the prestigious CPB/PBS Producer’s Academy.
