Description:
When a courageous young woman and
a radical lawyer discover a pattern of illegal sterilizations in
California’s women’s prisons, they wage a near-impossible battle
against the Department of Corrections. With a growing team of
investigators inside prison working with colleagues on the outside,
they uncover a series of statewide crimes - from inadequate health
care to sexual assault to coercive sterilizations - primarily
targeting women of color.

Erika Cohn is an award
winning filmmaker who Variety recognized as one of the top documentary filmmakers to watch.
Her film The
Judge, about the first woman judge appointed
to the Middle East’s Shari’a courts is a Peabody Award-winning
film. She co-directed/produced, In
Football We Trust, an
Emmy award-winning film about young Pacific Islander men pursuing
their dreams of playing professional football.
Angela Tucker is a writer,
director and Emmy nominated producer. Her directorial work includes All Skinfolk, Ain’t Kinfolk about a mayoral election in New Orleans; All
Styles and Black Folk
Don’t, a documentary web series that was
featured in Time Magazine’s 10 Ideas That
Are Changing Your Life; and
(A)sexual,
a documentary about people who experience no sexual attraction.
Christen Marquez is
interested in character driven stories and social justice issues
throughout the world. She produced Two Shadows about Cambodian families torn apart by the violent Khmer Rouge and E
Haku Inoa: To Weave A Name, which follows a multi-racial Native Hawaiian throughout her
journey to understand the meaning of her long Hawaiian name and
reconnect with her estranged mother.
Nicole Docta is a producer
who has focused her career on socially impactful projects and BIPOC
stories. She Co-Produced the Emmy-nominated As
Goes Janesville. Nicole was the Outreach and
Engagement Coordinator for the Emmy award-winning In
Football We Trust. She is associate producer
for the Peabody Award-winning and Emmy-nominated The
Judge.
