THESE MOMENTS (20 min) US |
Directors/Producers: Dylan Chant, Nic Kuklinski, Scott Larson
Description:
In
2020, America entered a new era of social justice, and without people
on the ground continuing to document the truth, ongoing injustices
would never be brought to light. The filmmakers follow three
photographers as they capture their unique racial justice movements
in the American Southwest, writing the history that will one day be
our legacy.
Biography:
Dylan Chant is a B.F.A.
student at Chapman University, majoring in Documentary Filmmaking. He
was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he developed a
passion for film and photography. Some of his favorite styles of
photography include candid photography and the art of
photojournalism. With the interest in photojournalism, the idea for a
film looking at three movements through the lens of photography
emerged.
Nic Kuklinski is a third-year
Documentary Film Major at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.
Before transferring to Chapman, he spent several years exploring his
passion for film working on various projects and internships, hoping
to hone his skills as a visual storyteller. Producing many short
documentary films over the years, he has worked as a director,
cinematographer, and editor, and since enrolling at Dodge, he has
been accepted into several prestigious doc programs, including
Community Voices.
Scott Larson is a junior at
Chapman University from Dallas, Texas. He has had an interest in
filmmaking since he was young and made short films throughout middle
and high school. He wants to be a cinematographer and believes
working on fast-paced, improvised projects such as documentaries
where you have to be ready for anything is a great way to develop
your craft. He also loves the style and opportunities given to you on
documentaries to be able to capture beautiful, powerful images on
projects capturing real people and telling their unique stories.
