Description:
At age 5, Norman Malone discovered he was a natural at
the piano. Tragically, when Norman turned 10, his father attacked him
with a hammer to the head, leaving him paralyzed on his right side.
Undaunted, Malone began a lifelong quest to reclaim his place at the
piano, mastering the most difficult music ever written for left hand
alone – and never telling anyone of his deepening virtuosity. Not
until he was 78 did Malone reveal his story, prompting belated
invitations to perform across America. Nearly 70 years after his
tragic attack, Malone launches a triumphant concert career.
Biography:
Gordon Quinn is the co-founder of Kartemquin Films. He is the recipient of the IDA

Emmy award-winning filmmaker who has written six books: The
Art of Inventing Hope: Intimate Conversations with Elie Wiesel, Portraits
in Jazz, Let
Freedom Swing, Jelly’s Blues, Van Cliburn and Prisoner
of Her Past.
The latter inspired the film Prisoner
of Her Past,
which Reich wrote, narrated and produced.
Diane Quon is an Academy Award-nominated producer who worked as a marketing
executive for 17 years at NBC and Paramount Pictures. Diane produced
the Oscar and Emmy nominated, Peabody and Sundance award-winning
film, Minding
the Gap, Finding
Yingying and The
Dilemma of Desire.
She is currently producing: Untitled
