Meal presents a
banquet of death row inmates' final feasts and through them shines a
light on our understanding of the individuals and the institutions
meting out capital punishment.
Biography:
Marcus McKenzie is a writer,
director and producer from Adelaide, South Australia. He co-created
the first original ABC iView dramatic series, Wastelander
Panda: Exile. His production company with
Daniel Principe, Cinemâché, has been producing films, commercials
and video content for brands and agencies since 2015. in 2020 Marcus
and filmmaking
partner Daniel Principe wrote, produced and directed the short
documentary Last
Meal, an exploration of capital punishment
through the final meals of death row prisoners. The film received
production funding from the South Australian Film Corporation,
Adelaide Film Festival and Panavision.
Daniel Principe is
a filmmaker in the very widest sense. With over twenty years of
experience creating work for top brands including Estee Lauder, Red
Bull and Emirates, Daniel was an integral part of the ‘Already
Home’ campaign that won the Master Chair at the 2011 AADC awards.
He currently runs creative production company CINEMÂCHÉ. Daniel cut
his teeth writing, producing, directing, editing and colouring
innovative music videos, winning a slew of awards and acclaim along
the way including two Vimeo staff picks.
Danielle
Tinker
is an Australian writer and producer. She wrote, produced and directed the short comedy PARDESI (2010) which won Best Film and the Audience Award at the Oz Asia Film Festival. Danielle went on to write and produce the short drama CLOSE IN HEART (2014) funded through the MRC and Screen Australia’s Raw Nerve initiative. Her credits as a producer with production company CINEMACHE include POINT FORWARD (in-production), a documentary on Australia’s first Indigenous Olympian developed with the support of Screen Australia and LAST MEAL (2020) an official selection of the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival.
